چکیده
Activated carbon was prepared from waste melamine-impregnated paper (MIP) by pyrolysis with activation NaOH. The adsorption parameters such as carbonization temperature (300, 350, 400, 450 °C), NaOH to C ratio (2:1, 3:1, 4:1, 5:1), and initial methylene blue (MB) dye concentration (20 600 mg/L) were studied. results fit the Langmuir isotherm model pseudo-second order kinetics. It found that activated MIP had a maximum capacity of 497 mg/g at 400 °C (carbonization temperature) (2:1). highest removal via 99.4%. π-π interaction between molecules active proposed be primary driving force for adsorption. This adsorbent based on shown highly promising water decontamination applications.

Chemisorption of Arsine on Activated, Impregnated Carbon Adsorbents
This work discusses an ongoing investigation to characterize microporous adsorbents that affect the removal of arsine from air. One aspect of this work was to develop a test system for generating, transport and detection of arsine gas appropriate for adsorbent breakthrough measurements at part-per-billion (ppb) concentrations. Preliminary adsorption data is provided showing the effect of arsine...
متن کاملProduction of Activated Carbon from Cellulose Wastes
Cellulose wastes of a wood and paper factory were used to produce activated carbon. Several chemical agents under various conditions were used for production of activated carbon and hence their adsorption properties have been evaluated. In addition the effect of process parameters such as raw material, chemical agent concentration, impregnation ratio, carbonization temperature, carbonization ti...
متن کاملApplication of Iron Impregnated Activated Carbon for Removal of Arsenic from Water
The presence of arsenic in drinking water is one of the greatest threats to public health. The aim of this experimental investigation was to study the removal efficiency of As(v) from water by application of iron-impregnated activated carbon(Fe-AC). Coating of activated carbon with iron salt was carried out by impregnation method and thermochemical reactions with using of 100 mM FeCl3 solution....
متن کاملPd-Impregnated activated carbon and treatment acid to remove sulfur and nitrogen from diesel
Removal of sulfur and nitrogen compounds from national commercial diesel through adsorption onto activated carbon was studied. Brazilian commercial activated carbon samples (AC) were modified by acid oxidation and, alternatively, were impregnated with palladium chloride. Modified carbon samples showed a significant increase in the quantity of acid sites, particularly those AC submitted to impre...
متن کاملExtraction of organic materials from red water by metal-impregnated lignite activated carbon.
Extraction of organic materials from 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT) red water by lignite activated carbon (LAC) impregnated with Cu(2+), Ba(2+), Sn(2+), Fe(3+), Ca(2+) and Ag(+) was investigated. The affinity to organic materials in red water was found to follow the order: Cu/LAC>Sn/LAC>Ag/LAC>Ba/LAC>Fe/LAC>Ca/LAC, which was explained by the hard and soft acid base (HSAB) theory. Cu(2+) showed the...
